In 2021,Fear Street,anR.L. Stine horror trilogy, was released over the course of three weeks, and it progressively became scarier as each part was released. The hype that it gained by releasing each part every week was genius, people had to watch all three parts to really appreciate it. The story was familiar yet original, as the ghost of Sarah Fier hooks her claws into a pair of high schoolers who go through literal Hell and back trying to lay her to rest.
Since this is a Netflix series, the audience anticipated it to be scary, but some were shocked by how gory and brutal some of the deaths were. Since there are three moviesthat make up theFear Streetfranchise, one can assume that there are a lot of deaths; in fact, the total is over one hundred kills. Let’s take a look at the top ten most brutal kills in the series.

10Heather - Fear Street Part I: 1994
At the top of this list is the first death that the audience witnesses, and it’s Heather, played by Maya Hawke. It’s late at the mall, and for some reason, all the lights are off, and even the maintenance staff is going home, yet Heather is still there. The only other person we really hear from, is Ryan, the guy who works in the sex shop down the hall. We don’t really expect him to be the killer, and that’s why it’s so great when it’s revealed that he is!
Ryan, aka, Skull Mask, chases Heather down the hall, and it’s a solid chase scene since it takes place in a closed mall and there are not many places for her to go. Heather’s death reallysets the tone for the rest of the movies, as she’s tackled down and stabbed over and over again. It’s not the most brutal on this list, but still, Heather’s demise could give anyone the chills, especially how she chokes on her own blood.

9Jeremy - Fear Street Part II: 1978
Jeremy, who’s an innocent and sweetcamper of Camp Nightwingis cut down by Tommy, and even though it’s not entirely shown on screen, it’s still really rough. Jeremy seems like the kid you would want to protect the most, seeing as he’s bullied by other campers, and he’s confused when his counselor approaches him with an ax. He’s completely unassuming, and perhaps that’s the worst part, as Tommy goes to town and chops him up. By the time the other campers find him, Jeremy is nothing more than a puddle of blood and his glasses. The fact that it’s a kid being murdered adds to the discomfort.
Fear Street Cast and Character Guide
The Fear Street trilogy was a huge hit and modern slasher movie classics. For all those horror lovers, let’s take a look at the cast of characters.
8Samantha - Fear Street Part I: 1994
Sam’s death isn’t that serious since she quickly gets revived, but the procedure she goes through in order to die, is lengthy and painful. Simon and Kate come up with a cocktail of pills for Sam to take in order to die with a pile of EpiPens at the ready to bring her back. However, she’s only able to take two of the three piles of pills before she has to make a break for it, leaving her still alive.
So Deena has to take matters into her own hands, literally, and has to drown Sam. It seems like it takes forever for her to die, and it’s hard to imagine knowing you’re going to die, and having to sit through your drowning. And then, there’s the tense moment when Deena jams about seven EpiPens into Sam’s chest, but ultimately, it works and Sam comes back to life.

7Alice - Fear Street Part II - 1978
Alice’s death comes at a turning point for her character, but it was ultimately cut short (pun intended). Alice wasn’t very likable at the beginning ofFear Street Part II - 1978, but she becomes more reliable as she navigates Sarah Fier’s lair with Cindy. Her boyfriend, Arnie, is killed by Tommy, and that’s when she becomes dedicated to putting a stop to this madness.
Just as she gives a big speech about how she’s going to kill Tommy for what he did to Arnie, she turns around and gets sliced across the face and neck by Tommy’s ax. It’s a rough death since she doesn’t die right away and has to experience bleeding out. Alice’s death isn’t so much sad as it is unfortunate, and brutal due to how long it took for her to die.

6Cindy Berman - Fear Street Part II: 1978
For the entirety ofFear Street: 1978,the audience believes that Cindy is the one who survived the camp massacre, until the very end when Ziggy is revealed to be the one who survived. Throughout the film, they’re both targeted and put through trials and torture as they run and fight against several ghosts that simply can’t die.
At the end of the movie, they’re surrounded by killers, and Cindy is forced down to the ground while Tommy starts to hack into her. Her rib cage is cut open, but she manages to talk to her sister, confirming that they’ll never be apart again, even though one of them doesn’t make it.

5Pastor Cyrus Miller - Fear Street Part III: 1666
In the finale of the series, it all comes to a head in 1666 when the truth of Sarah Fier’s story comes to light and the truth is revealed. The creep that is Pastor Cyrus Millermassacred a group of childrenin his church, and when his demise comes, the audience breathes a sigh of relief. However, it’s a tough way to go and a hard watch, as he ripped out his own eyes with a crowbar and then was stabbed in the side by Solomon Goode with a pitchfork.
4Simon - Fear Street Part I: 1994
Fear Street Part I: 1994had a lot of big deaths, but one that’ll make you gasp when you first witness it, is Simon’s. Tommy, the ax-man, was going after Josh, and Simon was running from Ruby Lane, and just about everyone was hoping that their plan was going to work in time. That is, until Simon rounds the corner and is met with Tommy’s ax getting lodged in his head. It happens so fast that you can’t help but be shocked as he stands there for a moment, dead, and with a shocked expression on his face.
3Tommy - Fear Street Part II: 1978
Tommy’s downfall happened at a rapid pace inFear Street Part II: 1978, and one could say that he deserved the way he was killed over and over again. However, of course, he was revived each time and continued to hunt down camper after camper. His most brutal death comes when Cindy kills him a second time by ramming the tip of her shovel into his neck. It’s slower than one might like as his head is cut off from his body, and the sound alone is just awful. It doesn’t take long before he’s back in action, with his head back on, and on the hunt once again.
Gary is a counselor at Camp Nightwing and his demise was somewhat expected since almost everyone was dying. Gary was half-developed as a character, as he clearly cared about the campers' safety, but was rightfully scared of what was going down. Also, he acknowledged thatNick taking a liking to Ziggywas weird, since as counselors, they’re meant to protect the kids since they’re in their care. Gary is killed in the bathroom, of all places, and he’s completely decapitated, his body somehow falling down the outhouse toilet. It’s gross and just a bad way to die.
Fear Street Trilogy: Scariest Moments, Ranked
There are plenty of tense moments, creepy images, and jump-worthy scares in Netflix’s Fear Street trilogy.
1Kate - Fear Street Part I: 1994
The most brutal death happens to Kate at the hands of the Skeleton Mask killer. It’s a rough watch as Kate tries to take on this killer by herself, and she puts up a tough fight until he ultimately overpowers her and slams her down onto the counter. It becomes very real as you watch in horror as the killer forces her into the bread cutter, and it’s just as terrible as you can imagine it as the blades dig into her skull. Her brains are mush, and her body is left on the counter, destroyed.
