Michael Fassbender’s hit streaming series,The Agency, is getting a second season on Paramount+. Despite mixed reviews, the spy thriller was a hit for the streaming platform in 2024, makingthe quick Season 2 renewala no-brainer, especially considering the star-studded cast. However,The Agencywill return with a bevy of new faces, and a new title to more accurately reflect the future of the series.

Paramount+ announced that five actors have been cast inThe AgencySeason 2, which is currently filming in London, England. Those joining the series include Christian Ochoa Lavernia (Silo), Clayne Crawford (Chad Powers), Keanush Tafreshi (V/H/S/99), Medalion Rahimi (Hacks), Raza Jaffrey (Homeland) and Tessa Ferrer (Swagger). The new cast members will be seen alongside Fassbender, Jeffrey Wright, and Jodie Turner-Smith, among other familiar faces. Interestingly enough, the series has been officially retitled toThe Agency: Central Intelligence, which could point toward the direction the series is headed after the thrilling first season.

Rumors surrounding the next James Bond have been swirling for years, and Michael Fassbender knows how hard it is to land the role.

TheCentral Intelligencesubtitle could indicate thatThe Agencywill now cover a wider range of characters, meaning Fassbender and co. might share less screentime to make way for the new cast. However, it appears that the series is still about the covert CIA agent played by Fassbender, at least according to Paramount+’s official description. The change in title and cast could also reflect how the first season received mixed reviews from critics, garneringa 68% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It seems the streamer wants the series to run for years to come, so adding new characters that could take over the star-heavy roles could be in the cards. Christian Ochoa Lavernia is “Grandma,” an undercover agent with Grandpa. Clayne Crawford is “Viking,” wanted by the CIA in connection with a dangerous military group. Keanush Tafreshi is “Hassan Zamani,” the hot-headed son of an Iranian government advisor. Medalion Rahimi is “Darya,” the niece of a powerful Mullah and Hassan Zamani’s girlfriend. Raza Jaffrey is “Craig,” a data analyst on the Iranian Desk, and Tessa Ferrer is “Robyn,” a United States Air Force nurse in Suffolk, England.

In addition to the newly-announced cast,The Agencyfeatures Michael Fassbender, Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, Katherine Waterston, Harriet Sansom Harris, John Magaro, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, Andrew Brooke, India Fowler, Reza Brojerdi, Alex Reznik, and Richard Gere. As of right now, it appears most, if not all, of the original cast will return for Season 2.
