Good news for fans of Batman and his 2022 film franchise entryThe Batman: There’s finally an update regarding the highly-anticipatedThe Batman II. While Warner Bros. remains officially silent about the upcoming sequel, someone has spilled the beans, and it appears that production will start sooner than we thought. Tina Marie, a crew member working behind the scenes ofThe Batman II, made a post on Instagram that saidfilming starts “in a couple of months.”
Needless to say, the post has since been deleted.
As reported by insiders on X atThe Batman Film News, Marie went on Instagram yesterday and posted an image of the script that also featured the July 05, 2025 release date. The caption read: “I have a job again ! The script is completed ! We start filming in a couple of months. I can’t wait to see everyone again. Thank youDCfor letting me work on this project.” While Marie is still active on her feed, the post was deleted from her account, as well as aBatman-related story she had also uploaded.
This doesn’t necessarily mean that Marie wasn’t telling the truth. It could just mean that the project will be heavily kept under wraps until Warners and those in charge of the project decide to break silence and confirm the inevitable. Hopefully, Marie won’t face serious consequences for posting the message on her personal account.

As we reported a few days ago,The Batman IIis set to begin productionwithout one of its key players, cinematographer Greig Fraser. Fraser is currently working on the Beatles biopics, and those will take some time, meaning he won’t have cinematography duties on the sequel. Who will take charge remains a concern for some fans, considering one of the standout elements of Matt Reeves' 2022 film was its gritty look. We only hope that everyone else returns for the sequel. But will they?
Is Zoë Kravitz Returning for ‘The Batman II’? Here’s What We Know
Not everything’s good news on theBatman IIfront. While the script is finished, and per Tina Marie, the film starts production soon, there’s also a rumor circulating that could mean bad news for fans of the superhero franchise.Per some X users,Zoë Kravitz, , a.k.a. Selina Kyle/Catwoman, could be having second thoughts about returning for the sequel.
Again, this hasn’t been confirmed by Kravitz or her publicists. At this point, it is just a rumor that probably stems from the uncertainty of the project, which will probably see most of its stars reprising their roles. That includes Barry Keoghan as the Joker, by the way, although he’s also busy with the Beatles biopics (he’ll be playing Ringo Starr).

In any case,The Batman IIis a reality, regardless of who exits the project, or any alternate superhero franchises currently in development. Everything else is all speculation at this point; until there’s an official announcement, we’ll have to stick with these bits of information that occasionally trickle in.
