Starring Antony Starr, Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Erin Moriarty, Karen Fukahara, Chace Crawford, Laz Alonso, Colby Minfie, and many, many more,The Boysis set in a world where superheroes are real, and they’re all arrogant, narcissistic celebrities. ‘The Boys’ Needs to Stick the (Superhero) Landing

Plot details for Season 5 still remain a closely guarded secret. It is expected that The Boys will have to wrestle with Butcher’s now-unhinged tendencies and methods as he mercilessly tracks down Homelander. The Season 4 finale also revealed that Billy Butcher had developed superpowers of his own, thanks to the substance Temp V, and can tear people in half with sprawling tentacles. Meanwhile, with Victoria Newman dead, there is little standing in the way of Homelander becoming the President of the United States of America. Whatever narrative path Season 5 takes, showrunner Eric Kripke knows the seriescan only end one way… with a Homelander vs. Billy Butcher showdown.

As a result, Kripke feels high expectations from the fan base about Season 5. But, the showrunner is also worried about the franchise over-staying its welcome. At present, Season 2 ofGen V, the debut season ofThe Boys: Mexico, and a new prequel series,Vought Rising, are all in the works.Eric Kripke is worried about over-reaching,in case the “punk rock” franchise sells out. “We’re gonna look at the chips we have on the table right now. I live in absolute terror of becoming the thing we’ve been satirizing for five years. The thing about The Boys is that it’s punk rock, and it hurts extra hard when punk rockers sell out. I’m really working hard to not sell out.”
