“Jeffrey Dean was someone they were thinking about, and I’m like, ‘I’ve worked with him technically twice’'; we’re both in Rampage together from forever ago. I don’t think we ever saw each other on that set, but then he showed up on The Boys, and, god, he is just such a stand-up guy”

The Boys Season 4 Will Introduce Hughie’s Mom

Jeffrey Dean Morgan isn’t the only new actor joining the hit show for its fourth outing. Quaid discussed Daphne’s introduction during the interview. She walked out on Hughie and his father when he was just 6 years old, and Quaid teased that her absence greatly informed the character than fans have fallen in love with, including his love of Billy Joel. “It’s a big reason why he is the way he is: loyal to a fault, doesn’t want to be alone,” Quaid said. Season 4 will also see Daphne and Hugh share some emotionally charged screen time together, and the actor described working with the pair as “some of the more fulfilling work” he’s ever done. Quaid continued:

“Just to watch the two of them work and learn so much from them. We had a blast. We became a weird family. I’m very excited for audiences to see the Campbell family chaos this year because it’s pretty great.”
