The CW has announced its summer programming lineup, along with premiere dates for new and returning shows. The network has been doing very well as of late, but their marquee shows are wrapping up their currents seasons and will be off until the fall. The network has plenty to occupy their air time this summer, with evergreen favorites likeWhose Line Is It Anyway?returning, and new shows such asThe Outpostcoming our way as well.
The network is continuing with their successful trio of summer shows from last year. Improv sketch showWhose Line is it Anyway?is back on Monday, June 4 at 9 p.m. ET. The series was revived by The CW and has been doing well for the network since.Penn & Teller: Fool Uswill also be back. The comedy magic series comes back for a new season on Monday, June 25 at 8 p.m. ET. Lastly, there’sMasters of Illusion, which will return with new episodes in June as well. The new season arrives on Friday, June 29 at 8 P.M. ET.Masters of Illusionwill be returning in grand fashion, debuting back-to-back new episodes upon its debut.
Additionally, The CW has two new dramas hitting the air this summer, which will debut on consecutive nights this July. First up is the new 10-episode fantasy adventure seriesThe Outpost, which comes from executive producer Dean Devlin ofStargateandIndependence Dayfame.The Outpostwill be premiering on Tuesday, July 10 at 8:00 pm ET. The series follows Talon, played by Jessica Green (Ash vs. Evil Dead), the lone survivor of a race called the “Blackbloods.” She travels to a lawless fortress on the edge of the civilized world as she tracks the killers of her family and discovers that she possesses a mysterious supernatural power.
Next up for the network’s new summer offerings is,Burden of Truth, which starsBeauty and the Beast’s Kristin Kreuk. This one is an investigative legal drama that follows Kreuk’s character as a big city lawyer who returns to her hometown to take on what she thinks is a simple case. However, she finds herself in a fight for justice for a group of sick girls.Burden of Truthis set to premiere on Wednesday, July 11 at 8:00 pm ET. The CW also hasMy Last Daysin the pipeline. This docuseries is hosted and executive produced byJane the Virginstar Justin Baldoni and returns for its second installment this summer starting on Friday, May 25.
Several of the network’s hit shows will be wrapping this summer as well.Life Sentencewill air its season finale on Friday, June 15 at 9:00 pm ET, withSupergirlset to conclude its third season on Monday, June 18 at 8:00 pm ET. There will also be new episodes ofThe OriginalsandThe 100throughout the summer.The CWstill has some decisions to make regarding its fall lineup, but this summer slate should help tide some people over untilRiverdaleand the Arrowverse shows return next season.
