Jamie Campbell BowerandEddie Marsanare about to get in the ring… of power, that is. The acclaimed British actors are no strangers to fantasy and genre fare, given the former’s time onStranger Thingsand the latter’s time appearing in, well, seemingly everything else, but neither have played in the acclaimed and beloved universe of author J. R. R. Tolkien — until now.

That’s right,The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Powerhas upped the star power ante in Season 3, tapping Bower and Marsan to join the cast for the series' next installment. The show is currently in pre-production in England, working out of a new home in Shepperton Studios. According to Prime Video, Bower will be a series regular, while Marsan will appear in a recurring capacity. Further details are currently being kept under lock and key, too precious for this world as it currently exists (or maybe just because they don’t want any spoilers getting out into the world).

According to the press release from Prime Video, Bower is “widely considered one of Britain’s brightest stars, with a career spanning theatre, TV and film.” Perhaps most well known for his timeplaying Henry Creel/Vecna inStranger Things,the actor made his film debut in Tim Burton’s gothic musicalSweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, starring opposite Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman, and Helena Bonham Carter. He also played the role of Gellert Grindelwald inHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part Iand also inFantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. As for Marsan, well, few actors have managed as esteemed and consistent a career as he over the past twenty years. To say his career is impressive would clearly be an understatement.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Poweris a hugely popular and successful series for Prime Video, and is produced by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, and Kate Hazell are executive producers alongside executive producer-director Charlotte Brändström. Matthew Penry-Davey also produces the series, as do Ally O’Leary, Tim Keene, and Andrew Lee as co-producers.
