AMC has reached an agreement with SAG-AFTRA in order to continue working on three of its most popular productions, namely twoThe Walking Deadspinoffs shows and the second season of the recent adaptation ofInterview With the Vampire.
Based on the acclaimed novel written by Anne Rice, Interview With the Vampire premiered last year at AMC and AMC+, being mostly praised by fans of the original story and critics. The show was rapidly renewed for a second installment that was already in production when the SAG-AFTRA strike started.
As forThe Walking Dead, after the successful premiere ofDead City, the spinoff starring Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Maggie and Negan, AMC was working on Norman Reedus-led showDaryl Dixonand the return of Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira as Rick and Michonne, in thrid spin-off,The Ones Who Live.
Deadline broke the newson Thursday that SAG-AFTRA has allowed AMC Networks to resume production on the three shows, but this will only apply to these specific projects and no other series from the network. According to the outlet, part of the reasons this was possible is that AMC is part of the group of companies that are authorized by AMPTP, but not part of the studios that are currently negotiating with the unions.

Daryl Dixon Is AMC’s Next Big Thing
Despite the fact that bothThe Walking DeadandFear the Walking Deadfailed to maintain its popularity in their last few episodes, fans are still showing their support projects related to the franchise. That became apparent inDead City’s viewership performance, which was actually higher than anticipated.
The series led by Maggie and Neganwas a complete success, proving that there are still interesting stories to be told within the Walker universe, and bringing back important characters within the franchise’s mythology. Now it will be Norman Reedus' turn to lead his own adventures inDaryl Dixon, a story set in an apocalyptic Paris, where new characters will be introduced and even a new species of zombies that will represent a challenge for the protagonist.
