10 years ago this May, the beloved sitcomWill & Gracewent off the air after eight successful seasons, but, like many hit shows of the past, it has found a way to come back. Over the weekend, series starsDebra Messing(Grace Adler),Eric McCormack(Will Truman),Megan Mullally(Karen Walker) andSean Hayes(Jack McFarland) teased that a reunion of some sort would happen sometime today. Since the first Presidential Debate betweenDonald TrumpandHillary Clintonis happening tonight, many assumed thiscast reunionwould have something to do with the upcoming election, and as it turns out, the speculation was accurate. This afternoon, just hours before the debate, a nine-minute mini-episode set in present day has all four characters discussing issues surrounding this Presidential election.
This YouTube video features bothWill and Graceexpressing their distaste forDonald Trump, and how they can’t imagine why anyone would vote for him, which segues perfectly into Karen Walker entering the room, proclaiming her support forDonald Trump. In the original series, Karen was Grace’s assistant, although she never really needed to work, since she married into money several times over. Karen reveals in this video that she’s close friends withDonald Trump, saying she helped him “pick out” his current wife Melania.
This video also addresses another hot-button story unrelated to the election, the divorce ofBrad PittandAngelina Jolie, which Jack is upset about since it coincided with his own break-up, via text message. This timely video also addresses the fact that undecided voters in “swing states” like Pennsylvania could be vital to the election, as Jack reveals that he is currently undecided, and actually registered in Pennsylvania.
What follows is Karen trying to persuade Jack to vote for Trump, whileWill and Gracetry to sway Jack to vote forHillary Clinton. We won’t spoil the end, but the reason why Jack ends up picking a candidate is quite hilarious, and there is a special surprise cameo at the very end. The video was sent out by all of the stars on social media, along with an image that features all four cast members with the hashtag #VoteHoney
For fans hoping for aseries revivalofWill & Grace, we don’t know if that will happen, but these sorts of reunions and revivals have proven to be quite popular.
