Eleven years ago, Paramount released their hit comedyWedding Crashers, which earned $209.2 million domestically and an additional $75.9 million in international markets for a worldwide total of $285.1 million, from just a $40 million budget. While the film solidifiedVince VaughnandOwen Wilsonas bankable box office stars, it also introduced fans to an up and coming actress namedIsla Fisher, who had her breakout role as the crazed Gloria Creary. While promoting her new filmNocturnal Animals,Isla Fisherrevealed that a sequel is actually still in the works.

Just months after the original comedy hit theaters, we reported in September 2005 that aWedding Crashers sequelwas in the works, withSteve Faber, who co-wrote the original movie withBob Fisher, coming aboard to write the script. That news was never confirmed by the studio, originating from an interview withWedding CrashersstarJane Seymour, who was told by the writer that a sequel was happening, and that she would return as Kathleen Creary. During an appearance onThe Today Show,Isla Fisherrevealed thatWedding Crashers 2is apparently in the works. Here’s what she had to say below.

“So, the first I heard of it, I bumped intoVince Vaughnat a party and he said apparently we are going to be making a sequel. I’m excited to see what happened to Gloria.”

When asked if it’s a “done deal,” the actress had this to say.

“I don’t really know about that, I probably shouldn’t announce it on morning television, but apparently there’s some talk of it, which is fun.”

This news has not been confirmed by the studio, and it remains unclear if originalWedding CrashersstarsOwen Wilson,Rachel McAdams,Bradley CooperorChristopher Walkenwill also be returning for the sequel. If this project is actually coming together, it’s unknown if Paramount has a production schedule in place yet.
