Let’s say for a moment that theMarvel Cinematic Universehad plans to add every single Marvel Comics character to the world of movies. Some of the villains might be too powerful for the MCU. As it stands now, Marvel’s films have a relatively small selection of heroes compared to what we see in comic books.

Sure, it hits all the major names, and some b-list heroes still get bit parts or cameos, but many big teams have yet to make their entrance even though they might have plans to. And there are villains in Marvel Comics that have taken bigger team-ups than the one needed to defeat Thanos. Dangerous forces lurk in the multiverse, and some don’trequire Infinity Stonesto turn the Avengers into dust.

Marvel Comics - Beyonder

There are villains out there that have affected the comic book universe with extreme consequences. And, if they were introduced into the MCU, they would commandeer all of the heroes from any of their other movies. Not only would they create intense, cross-title events, but the fallout from their battles would introduce events not too different from the infamous snap. The MCU would have to spend years cleaning up the mess and would sometimes lose some of its characters in the process. They would be threats not only to the superheroes but to Marvel’s ability to tell a story.

The Beyonder Could Take on Thanos

Beyonder is essentially a god. Although not in terms of the Marvel Universe. Instead of being on the level of Thor or Zeus, Beyonder is far and awaystronger than Thanosat his height. Living in his own reality, for what was assumedly forever to him, Beyonder was a being that existed as the entire universe. There wasn’t anything else.

After a strange incident in the regular Marvel Universe (Earth-616) that also created a different, ultimately powerful enemy, this parallel plane was open to Beyonder, who realized he wasn’t the only thing in existence. He immediately crossed over to Earth-616 and created a deadly game for heroes and their villains.

Beyonder created an entire galaxy, destroyed it, save for one star, and then formed a single planet around that star that came to be known as Battleworld. He transported all of Earth’s heroes to that world, including the Avengers, the X-Men, and Fantastic Four. And, because incomplete existence remains empty without conflict, he also transported all of their villains there. He even had the power to put Galactus on this Battleworld.

He commanded that all of Marvel’s heroes and villains fight so that he could witness the battle between good and evil, promising the winners anything they wanted from his infinite powers. He was only “defeated” after he left the universe and willingly consented to be merged with the Cosmic Cube, thereby creating a different, beneficent cosmic entity.

Onslaught X-Men Marvel Villain

Evil Geniuses Kill the Marvel Universe

There are some comics titledPunisher Kills the Marvel UniverseandDeadpool Kills the Marvel Universethat show how specific heroes could be the world’s most dangerous threat. But really, some of the most dangerous villains are some of the smartest heroes – Superior Iron Man, Yellow Jacket, Doctor Doom.

We’ve seen the MCU put out an episode ofWhat If…?where Hank Pym easily defeats all of the Avengers and is powerful enough to causeThe Watcher to intervene. And there is an incarnation of Reed Richards where he becomes the god of an entire universe.

Hank Pym has proven before that he would be extremely dangerous should he be turned to the dark side. Deadpool used his technology inDeadpool Kills the Marvel Universeto defeat invulnerable heroes like Thor and Luke Cage. In hisepisode ofWhat If…?, he proves that his genius gives him an aptitude for subtly, which, combined with his unique powers, could be used to defeat any enemy. Andevil Reed Richardsis a horrifying thought.

In one story (there have been a few), Mr. Fantastic grafts the Time and Reality stones into his eyes to defeat Kang the Conqueror and protect his universe. Eventually, his ends begin to justify his means, and he kills many heroes who say he is being too extreme.

Onslaught Is a Formidable Foe

Onslaught is one of the deadliest beingsever to exist in the Marvel Universe. Most of the time, when an omega-level threat has this level of power, writers do Earth the service of putting the being in space. But this enemy evolves right here on Earth. This psionic being is the result of a psychic merger between Professor X and Magneto.

Already the two most powerful mutants on the X-Men docket, Charles Xavier’s psychic powers combined with Magneto’s willful ego and strategic ability creates this latent psychic force within Xavier that slowly takes over the X-Men and attempts to conquer the world.

Using Magneto’s tactical genius, Onslaught used Xavier as a puppet until he was able to take over the mind of a more powerful mutant and begin his assault on the X-Men. He took control of the Sentinels, androids specifically designed to destroy mutants, to protect himself as he conquered New York City. When he left Xavier’s body, Onslaught took his powers with him. Eventually, he became formless psychic energy that inhabited a Magneto-like suit of armor that protected him from other psychic attacks.

It took the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and the Avengers all teaming up to defeat Onslaught, and even then, the villain killed most of the heroes. It took Franklin Richards creating a pocket universe to save the lives of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. If Onslaught were unleashed on the MCU, it would take another 2 phases to defeat him.
