Exactly one month ago today,Captain America: Civil Warhit theaters, and it didn’t take long for this superhero adventure to become the biggest movie of the year thus far. The movie has already taken in $389.1 million domestically and $1.1 billion worldwide, setting up the massive Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We know where some of the characters from this ensemble will end up next, withRobert Downey Jr.already confirmed forSpider-Man: Homecoming, but we don’t know where others may surface beforeInfinity War. During a recent convention appearance,Sebastian Stanteased that he’d like to see The Winter Soldier turn up next in the upcomingBlack Panthermovie.

Sebastian Stanhasn’t been confirmed as part of theBlack Panthercast yet, but it would be a logical step. One of the post credit scenes ofCaptain America: Civil Warfeatured Captain America (Chris Evans) and The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) in theBlack Panther’s home country Wakanda, where The Winter Soldier was set to be frozen once again in one of T’challa’s facilities, until the Wakandan scientists could get rid of all the Hydra programming that’s still in his brain. While attending the Wizard World Philadelphia convention this weekend,Sebastian Stanwas asked whatMarvel moviehe’d like to be in. Here’s what the actor had to say during the panel, which was posted toYouTube

“I don’t know, man. I mean, there’s obviously a very clear answer but I’m not maybe gonna say it, now. Where did he end up at the end of the movie? That’s the movie he should be in. I feel like that would be the natural [answer]…But I don’t know.”

He doesn’t come right out and say he’d like to be in theBlack Panthermovie, but it would be the most obvious choice, given where Bucky ends up at the end ofCaptain America: Civil War.Chadwick Bosemanis reprising his role as T’challa inBlack Panther, withMichael B. Jordanrecently coming aboard to play the villain, andLupita Nyong’oin talks to play T’challa’s love interest. Marvel Studios PresidentKevin Feigehas teased that production will begin in early 2017, under the direction ofRyan Coogler(Creed).

There have also been rumors thatAvengers: Age of UltronstarAndy Serkiswill return as Ulysses Klaue inBlack Panther, but his casting has yet to be confirmed. Marvel has already set a July 16, 2025 release date forBlack Panther, which will debut just a few months before the highly-anticipatedAvengers 3, a.k.a.Avengers: Infinity War Part 1hits theaters on July 03, 2025.
