Fox Searchlight Pictures has released the first trailer forYouth, arriving in theaters December 4, which could give us an early look at a potentialAcademy Awardcontender.Rachel Weisz,Michael CaineandHarvey Keitellead an all-star cast in this drama, which will go up against the horror-comedyKrampuswhen it hits theaters at the end of this year. The story centers on Fred and Mick, two old friends on vacation in an elegant hotel at the foot of the Alps.

Fred (Michael Caine), a composer and conductor, is now retired. Mick (Harvey Keitel), afilm director, is still working. They look with curiosity and tenderness on their children’s confused lives, Mick’s enthusiasticyoung writers, and the other hotel guests. While Fred has no plans to resume his musical career despite the urging of his loving daughter Lena (Academy Award winnerRachel Weisz), Mick is intent on finishing the screenplay for what may be his last important film for his muse Brenda (Academy Award winnerJane Fonda).

And where will inspiration lead their younger friend Jimmy (Paul Dano), an actor grasping to make sense of his next performance? The supporting cast includes Neve Gachev,Tom Lipinski, Emilia Jones, Ed Stoppard and Madalina Diana Ghenea.Paolo Sorrentinodirects from his own screenplay, with Carlotta Calori (This Must Be the Place), Francesca Cima (The Invisible Boy) and Nicola Giuliano (The Double Hour) producing.
